If you love everything to do with caravanning, you might be interested in a special theatre production being held in a motorhome itself.
The showing of Mobile has been commissioned by Live Theatre and The Marlowe Theatre and presented by The Paper Birds, the Northern Echo reported.
While certainly not being a traditional use for a caravan, seeing Mobile could be an ideal excuse for people to take their vehicle out of motorhome storage in Devon to watch the unique play while it is in production.
It will open on June 8th and continue until June 26th, giving theatre fans plenty of opportunities to catch the unique performance.
The play is about a character called Cindy who has just graduated but is forced to return home and ends up living in her mother’s caravan. Her thoughts regarding social mobility and aspiration are dealt with in the story.
Artistic director of The Paper Birds Jemma McDonnell said the production touches on whether it is a positive experience to have so much ambition and reflect on our parents’ class and status.
“We look forward to opening up this conversation in our caravan – taking the show to audiences rather than them coming to us in a traditional theatre setting,” Ms McDonnell said.
The show will be launched at the opening of the new Live Garden on Newcastle Quayside, and will continue touring around the country between July and November.
It stars Kylie Walsh and Georgie Coles, who will take the production to Kent, Margate and Plymouth among other areas in the UK.
